In order to allow for a clear interpretation of coded instructions, SMDG decided to maintain separate code lists for handling, stowage instruction, and attributes of transport equipment and stowage locations.  

Code list ATTRIBUTES (version June 2021)  lists attributes describing the status of transport equipment that is to be observed during the transport of cargo.

Code list HANDLING (version June 2021) lists cargo attributes to be observed during the handling of cargo.

Code list STOWINS (version June 2021) lists attributes of transport equipment and cargo that are to be observed during a vessel’s load and discharge operations.
